The rule, which we reported on in our last live stream, would have imposed stricter income guidelines, such as a “safe zone” for families who earn over 250% of the poverty guidelines and bars applicants from most means-tested-benefits, if implemented in its most strictest sense, could have prevented over half of all legal immigration, was causing a lot of panic and concern among immigrants and their families since it was announced.
So what this means as of now is that this new rule did not go into effect on October 15 as it was originally intended to. However, there is a chance that a higher court reverses the injunctions in the future. So if you were on the fence about applying before, now is the time.
Stay tuned to our future broadcasts to stay on top of this developing story.
