Xenophobia is the general prejudice or implicit bias against people from a country other than your own, namely immigrants. It generally originates from a tribalist worldview of being afraid of that which is different.[1]. Xenophobia can lead to oppressive, anti-immigrant laws, such as the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882.
