Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) is the website Department of State's National Visa Center (NVC) created for applicants to track and manage their case after it was approved at USCIS  and transferred to NVC.

All immigrant visa applicants receive a Welcome Letter either by email or physical mail with direction to create a account at CEAC after the case is transferred to NVC.  With the information given in the letter, you can log in to CEAC to submit fees, forms and the required supporting documents to NVC. You will be able to check NVC's response and case status later too.

The process you need to complete at CEAC include:

  1. Pay immigrant visa application processing fee and affidavit of support fee. Note that the system does not allow you pay two fees at once, so you'll need to wait for few days after the first fee is paid to pay the second one.
  2. Complete an affidavit of support form and submit documents as evidence.
  3. Complete the application for immigrant visa and alien registration (Form Ds-260) and print the confirmation page, you'll need to bring this page to your interview later.
  4. Submit required civil documents. Each family member immigrating with you must collect the required documents.

Once you complete all above steps at CEAC and met NVC's requirements, NVC will schedule your visa interview appointment and send an email with the appointment date and time.
