What should I expect at the CR1 visa interview?

The officer will want to confirm the authenticity of your relationship. Expect to be asked questions that are about how you met, what you do together as a couple, and your plans for the future.

How long does the CR1 visa interview take?

The spousal visa interview lasts for only about 10 minutes. The U.S. sponsoring spouse is not required to attend the interview. To make it easier for you, the consular officer follows a set of procedures with a set of pretty standard questions. If you're including children on your application for a CR2 or IR2 visa, they must attend the interview with you.
